The Things I Wear: To the #WebutanteBall

…as told in instagram pics standing outside in the cool kids section. I didn’t wear a prom dress because those are saved for casual dinners, brunches, and thanksgiving. Duh.

Since Mallory and I were each other’s dates reppin Small Girls PR, we decided to go the matching route… you know, how the Olsen twins used to do it before they decided they were no longer the “Olsen Twins” but rather ‘Mary-Kate Olsen’ and ‘Ashley Olsen’.

Black dresses, white cape-like sheer over shirts, milkmade braids (or half, in my case), and white Portovelos made for a simple but totes adorbs look(s).

Phoebe Lapine, blogger at Feed Me Phoebe (formerly of Big Girls Small Kitchen), wrote this great piece in Cosmo’s June 2013 issue about starting a company with your bestie. It isn’t all fun and games- and can be more idealistic than realistic, as many friends turned partners can attest to.

We’re happy to have been one of the bff biz partners that she interviewed for advice on how to make it work! Running a business with a co-founder and friend is like being in a relationship- making sure that both parties are happy and are on the same page. It’s ok to be working at a goal in different ways, as long as you’re working towards the same vision and the work is complementary. Disagreements are inevitable, but it’s the magic, drive, and the constant communication that will keep it alive.

And you know… spice it up and go on a bff/partner date every once in a while.

You can imagine our excitement when we got the twitter notification that Gary named us one of 5 companies you should be paying attention to, while we were at the Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards last Friday- as we may or may not have drifted from the conversation we were in to run off and tweet about it.

Rocking out with Uniqlo- Today/night!

I’ve always been a huge fan of Uniqlo- not only have they made some of my face pieces of clothing, but I love seeing the creative collaborations they’ve done with their capsule collections and their UT campaigns.
This year they’ve taken it to the streets with the Uniqlo Truckshop- whose flashing lights once caught Mallory and my eyes while walking up broadway by union square.

So excited to check out to tonight’s Love Me lightshow by artist Curtis Kulig + hang with my fave girls Mia & Caitlin of The Dolls!

great news for pregnant women and those who are pregnant-to-be! zara has launched a maternity line. the “mum” collection is available now, consisting of many pieces that look very similar to zara’s usual but accommodate a growing belly.

This makes me want to preggers… and I never want to be preggers.

Maybe I could walk around with one of those fake pregnant bellies, just for the outfit.
