What’s in a bag?
I ended up grabbing a drink with Tylerdan last night and catching up since we haven’t seen each other in months. It made me remember one of our many summer adventures in 2007- I decided I was going to take daily polaroids of what was in my bag, claiming you can tell a lot about a person by what they carry in their bag. It never actually got going because I ran out of polaroid film- but here is a photo from one of those days from the Summer of 2007. The contents really do seem to tell my story for that day…
- Vic Firth drum pad- I called Tylerdan to meet me after my drum lesson and come to guitar center with me. I wasn’t ready to stop playing after the lesson so I insisted on going to GC so I could play in the drum room.
- Camel No.9’s- They were my cigarette of choice that summer. I gave them a try since they were one of our clients at the job I had then… ended up liking them a lot and spreading word to my friends about the pink camels.
- Chuck Klosterman IV- Was in the middle of reading at the time. TD and I used to go through the hypotheticals and answer them.
- Issue of Nylon Mag- for park reading…love the magazine… enough said.
- Nine Inch Nails, With Teeth- My drum lessons basically consisted of me bringing a CD and Pete instructing me to play to certain songs. I was working on Hand that Feeds.
- Charlie Parker Jazz Festival program- TD and I ended up sauntering over to Tompkins Square Park after Guitar Center, and the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival was going on. We sat around for a bit and listened to the music… It was lovely. (this also reminded me of the time we sauntered to the park and there was a Tranny festival going on… yet another random Tompkins Sq. Park moment for us)
- My red ghetto samsung phone- I had lost 7 phones within the first 6 months of 2007… after my Treo was stolen I went through a string of cheap phones for fear of losing them.
- randoms- Lighter, Bank Card, Dollar Bill (?), Sunglasses, Keys, Raspberry Flavored Chapstick, Business cards, & Metrocard
Bag: French Connection- pink canvas… my favorite. I’ve beaten that bag to death since then.
