CMJ Night 1:

Taste/Urb party at Nublu = Jeremy was pretty excited about the fact that they played 3 J Dilla songs as soon as we walked in. There was an LA hip hop vibe to the scene.

Lit = these 3 girl rappers who were encroaching on beastie boy territory… Nico and I referred to them as the beastie girls.  they were actually pretty rad & entertaining… I need to find out the actual band name.

Got listed for Santos- thanks Spam!- (wanted to see shiny toy guns), but by the time I got the message I was already on my way to the Studio @ Webster Hall.  I’m looking forward to seeing the space finished, but they opened it early as a preview for CMJ.  Gang Gang Dance was amazing, and despite the fact that people have said some negative things about the set up… i thought the sound at the space was great… they’re not finished with it yet people… wait a bit… it’ll be good.
