New Order - “Ceremony”
With my recent Joy Division binge, I knew a New Order post was coming. “Ceremony” was actually written by Joy Division’s lead singer, Ian Curtis, and was the first single released by New Order (a band created by the remaining members of Joy Division after Curtis’ death).
It’s amazing how much the song sounds like Joy Division, which is a very respectable way for a band to debut. You can also hear this track in the movie Marie Antoinette.
1) “So, do you like New Order?” HAS to be the one pick up line i hear the most (or at least the most memorable)… it’s like “really?… you really just asked me that?” and the answer… “who DOESN’T like New Order?”
2) The Marie Antoinette Movie is my favorite. “He amuses her and she likes to be amused…there’s nothing un-regal about that…”
