most people say that John Varvatos is exploiting the true meaning and origin of CBGB.
I say it would have been a shame had they put something there that didn’t honor CBGB even a little bit. I mean think of it this way. They could have bought the space and opened a John Varvatos merchandised like the other John Varvatos stores. (or what if they opened a Pinkberry there instead!! ) True the space is no longer in it’s dirty rocker form… but the memory of CBGB is still there.
+ displaying shoes on a stage with a drum kit is pretty much one view of heaven i have… except in mine there would be heels & a hot drummer behind the kit
