Cure Thrift Shop
When I was in High School I worked volunteered at a thrift store run by our local hospital, and I loved it. My best friend at the time worked there too, and she still remembers the day she came in and I had organized all the clothing by color and category. There was just something about getting to sort through random and unique pieces of jewelry, clothing, home items, etc.
When I decided that I wanted to work on doing my own event planning projects and living in the pursuit of rock n’ roll, I thought the perfect job to complement it would either be working for an independent boutique or a vintage/thrift store in soho or the east village.
With my events coming together, the universe has finally aligned as I’ve now become part of the team at Cure Thrift Shop. Not only do they have an AMAZING space filled with a ‘living room’ of awesome furniture and housewares, and quite an expansive collection of clothing, but all of the proceeds benefit the Diabetes Research Institute.
Check out the Cure Thrift Shop blog (obviously on tumblr), and follow it for some really fun updates. Among the photos of new arrivals, interesting pieces, and sale announcements, we’ll also be featuring videos of our furniture restoration projects, cool ways to wear vintage and thrifted fashions, putting together displays, and finding hidden treasures from the many generous donations that we receive.
