if you’re looking for a new splurge with an homage to manhattan, marc jacobs has named two fall ‘09 bags after the only place that i’ve been illegally pierced: st. mark’s place. the hobo, available for pre-order at bergdorf goodman for only $1,850, is quilted black with a chain. it is studded “like most st. mark’s denizens”.
the stam bag also experienced a reinvention to better reflect the notorious block between houston and 14th street, with cut-out patent and strategically-placed rhinestones. it is available for pre-order for a mere $2,395. (sigh.)
These bags look amazing. Speaking of St.Marks, since I moved out of Nolita, I’ve been spending most of my time around this neighborhood… as a gutter punk. Just kidding. No but really, I think I’ve turned into more of the local than Jacob, who actually lives on this street. Just ask the bars, restaurants, and stores. They know me by name. ;)
