Elevator Fight at Trash Bar
So, last Friday, I found out about the Elevator Fight show last minute… threw an outfit on and dragged half of tumblr with me (reason being that the band has one… i don’t know, i thought it made sense).
ANYWAY, verdict = the band is amazing.  Now obviously they get attention over Zoe Kravitz, but that can only take your band cred so far.  Yes, Zoe does make for a great front-girl with her black ripped skinny jeans, white tshirt tucked in just enough to see the belt buckle, suede boots and hair in braids.  She had amazing stage presence bouncing around dancing, and most importantly sounded great with her range of singing soulfully in one song to and channeling her inner rocker in the next.  She’s the kind of singer in a band that I wish I could be.  Cute, fun, and… well… talented.
But of course, let’s not forget the band (because Elevator Fight is a six-piece after all). Two guitarists, a bassist, a drummer and a drum machine/tambourine/keyboardist (did I get that right rick?)… well that was actually what caught most of my attention at the show.  They had this natural cohesiveness and banter that just resonated from the stage to the crowd.  Great musicians who really knew how to play together (also…I just want to mention one thing: bicycle dancing?)
Try to check em out the next time they’re in town.  The whole band will get you dancing with their awesome tunes and amazing energy.
