The Mars Volta- Roulette Dares

Reasons I love this song:

  • best to sing along to with phrases like “exoskeletal junction at the railroad delayed”, “rules of metacarpi, caveat emptor for all who enter here”…etc. etc. (i mean seriously, the lyrics are amazing)
  • the drums coming in with the single snare hits and then going chaotic within seconds
  • the melody, the guitar riffs, cedric’s voice… the whole thing is just money

De-Loused in the Comatorium still stands as my favorite Mars Volta album.  HOWEVER, tomorrow night there is a listening party for their new album, Octahedron, at the Thom Bar (Thompson Hotel, 10:30 PM hosted by GBH and Filter Magazine).  We’ll see how that one fares.
