Cantora Records/Northside Festival Showcase Tonight at Glasslands
Because everything I do has to have SOME kind of random story…
I met one of the guys who plays with Savoir Adore and Plushgun at the 99 Dollar Music Videos wrap party.  I kept telling him that Savoir Adore sounded so familiar, and as I threw out different connections they may possibly have, to things where I could have heard them, I still couldn’t place it.
Two days later I saw this flyer on the Death + Taxes site, which answered all the questions (it’s actually not the first time that something on D+T helped me put pieces on a ‘social meeting’ puzzle together).
About a year ago I was at a restaurant where I was convinced one of the tables was a label having a meeting with a band.  I told my friend who was waiting on them to asked what label they were (which he did), looked them up online, checked out their bands, and emailed them to let them know that I dug the music.  That label was Cantora… which Savoir Adore is under.
Duh. So with all the small world-ness involved in this showcase, I think I’m going to go.
