Swedish band Blackstrap (a recent and very agreeable new find yielded by the sixytone) documented their recent US tour on Tumblr. This strikes me as a truly fantastic application of Tumblr’s strength’s. Blackstrap posted text updates , video’s, and pictures from their various stops across the United States. What better way to keep your fan’s update on your tour status? Or provide them with Original exclusive content from the road? More bands should wise up to this (and i’m not just saying that because i spend so much time on Tumblr and would like to recieve regular updates from bands i love). This is a way to tap into tastemakers who can build buzz by instantly reblogging your content. Such awesome potential!
This is EXACTLY what I’ve been trying to tell all my friends in bands… as they’ve all finally caught on to Twitter… I’ve been trying to turn them onto Tumblr… it seriously only makes sense as the BEST way to share tour updates.
